STAGE 01 – FIRST BUTTERFLY EXECUTION

STEP 01

Prepare the hoop with TNT stabilizer

STEP 02

Place the 3D BUTTERFLY 3D WING design in the machine and take the hoop to the machine to run the marking stitch

STEP 03

Remove from the machine and place one 5.9 cm x 5.9 in piece of printed tricoline fabric over the front marking and the other piece on the back side. Secure with masking tape

STEP 04

Take it to the machine and embroider the material tack-down stitch

STEP 05

Trim the excess fabric on the front and back sides

STEP 06

Place the bobbin with the thread matching the finishing color into the machine

STEP 07

Take it to the machine and embroider the finishing stitch of the first butterfly

STEP 08

Remove from the hoop and trim the TNT stabilizer close to the embroidery, being careful not to cut any threads

STEP 09

STEP 09
For a better finish on the piece, use the blue part of the lighter flame (the flame closest to the metal part of the lighter)

Reserve for use in Step 3.

STAGE 02 – TULLE WING EXECUTION

STEP 01

Place the 3D TULLE WING CUTTING design in the machine
Prepare the hoop with tear-away stabilizer

STEP 02

Take it to the machine and run the marking stitch

STEP 03

Place 4 to 6 layers of tulle over the marking and secure with masking tape along the edges

STEP 04

Return to the machine and embroider the butterfly marking/tack-down stitch

STEP 05

Remove from the machine and take it out of the hoop

STEP 06

Trim around the butterfly stitching leaving a small margin

STEP 07

Remove the stitching from the edges on the back side without cutting the front thread, as we will use it to gather the tulle butterfly.

If you accidentally cut it, do not worry, as you can use another thread to gather the tulle

STEP 08

Cut only the stabilizer close to the center stitching, being careful not to cut the layers of tulle

STEP 09

Remove the remaining stabilizer without undoing the center stitching, as it will be our guide for gathering the little butterfly

STEP 10

Cut the embroidery thread that became doubled when we removed the stitching from the back side, leaving the threads separated individually

STEP 11

Place one of the threads into a hand sewing needle and sew along the center marking to gather the butterfly

STEP 12

Make a gathered section measuring approximately 0.4 in and secure the gathering with a small knot. Trim the remaining threads

RESERVE TO BE APPLIED TOGETHER WITH THE BUTTERFLY FROM STAGE 01

STAGE 03 – APPLYING TO THE SHIRT

STEP 01

Prepare the hoop with the stabilizer and fit the template grid over it. Place it on top of the styrofoam board

The board will serve as support so you can secure the pins in the next steps

STEP 02

Using the magic marker, mark the 5 circles of the template grid, then remove the template grid

STEP 03

Fold the shirt in half from the front side and crease it to create the center marking

STEP 04

Place the butterfly from Stage 01 over the center of the shirt and position it where you want to embroider. Place a pin in the center of the butterfly as shown in the photo

STEP 05

Make a small mark in the center using the magic marker, then remove the pin and the butterfly

STEP 06

Place the template grid centered over the shirt using the marking made in the previous step and mark the other 4 circles of the template grid with the magic marker

STEP 07

Place the shirt over the markings in the hoop

STEP 08

Place a pin on each circle marked on the shirt and in the hoop, securing them into the styrofoam board.

Place pins around the hoop as close as possible to the hoop frame so the machine presser foot does not touch them while embroidering

STEP 09

After placing the pins around the hoop, remove the 5 pins that were secured into the board and clip the excess shirt fabric with the clips

STEP 10

Take it to the machine and embroider the square and center marking

STEP 11

At the beginning of the butterfly center marking stitch (top side), place a pin and secure it at the first point of the shirt center marking. Do the same at the last point (bottom side), as shown in the photo below

STEP 12

Secure the edges with masking tape and remove the pins

STEP 13

Take it to the machine and run the tack-down stitch, which will also serve as the placement marking for the tulle butterfly

STEP 14

Place the tulle butterfly in the center of the square marking and secure it with a pin.

Place masking tape along the edges

STEP 15

Cut a piece of plastic slightly larger than the shirt marking and secure it with masking tape along the edges as well

STEP 16

Take it to the machine and embroider the remaining colors until the end

STEP 17

After the embroidery is finished, remove the plastic and remove all masking tapes and pins from the edges

STEP 18

Remove the shirt marking stitches, remove the stabilizer and clean the embroidery
