Step by Step Christmas Placemat

STEP BY STEP CHRISTMAS PLACEMAT

MATERIALS TO BE USED

1 - 13x18 hoop
2 - Tear-away stabilizer
3 - 10 pieces of R2 acrylic batting 17 cm x 14 cm (6.7 x 5.5 in)
4 - 1 piece of R2 acrylic batting 12 cm x 12 cm (4.7 x 4.7 in)
5 - 20 pieces of white tricoline fabric 18 cm x 15 cm (7.1 x 5.9 in)
6 - 2 pieces of white tricoline fabric 13 cm x 13 cm (5.1 x 5.1 in)
7 - Masking tape
8 - Fine-tip scissors for trimming
9 - Fine pins
10 - Bobbin with thread matching the finishing color (satin stitch)
11 - Embroidery threads

EXECUTION - STAGE 01

STEP 01

Prepare the hoop with the stabilizer

STEP 02

Place the FAN 1 design in the machine and run the marking stitch

PASSO 03

Place the 17 cm x 14 cm (6.7 x 5.5 in) R2 acrylic batting and the 18 cm x 15 cm (7.1 x 5.9 in) white tricoline fabric over the marking and secure with masking tape along the edges

STEP 04

Take it to the machine and run the tack-down stitch. Continue on the machine and embroider the next color with white thread, then the gray thread (or the color you chose for the outline)


STEP 05

Remove from the machine, remove the masking tapes and trim the excess batting and fabric

STEP 6

Place the 18 cm x 15 cm (7.1 x 5.9 in) fabric on the back side of the hoop and secure with masking tape

Take it to the machine and run the tack-down stitch. After stitching, remove from the machine and trim the excess fabric

STEP 07

Change the bobbin thread to white for the finishing stitch

STEP 08

Take it to the machine and run the finishing stitch

STEP 09

Remove from the machine, take it out of the hoop and remove the stabilizer. Clean the embroidery and reserve for the next stage

STAGE 02

STEP 01

Prepare the hoop with the stabilizer

STEP 02

Place the FAN 2 design in the machine and run the marking stitch

PASSO 03

Place the RIGHT side of the piece made in the previous stage over the marking in the hoop. Align the seam line over the seam line and secure with pins, always placing them in the seam holes as shown in the photo

STEP 04

Secure with masking tape all around and remove the pins

STEP 05

Take it to the machine and run the tack-down stitch

STEP 06

Remove the masking tapes from the tack-down seam and place the ribbon on the top and bottom, as shown in the photo

STEP 07

Place the 17 cm x 14 cm (6.7 x 5.5 in) R2 acrylic batting and the 18 cm x 15 cm (7.1 x 5.9 in) fabric over the marking and secure with masking tape

STEP 08

Take it to the machine and run the tack-down stitch. Continue on the machine and embroider the next color with white thread, then the gray thread (or the color you chose for the outline)

STEP 09

Repeat steps 5 to 9 from Stage 01

STEP 10

Remove from the machine, take it out of the hoop and remove the stabilizer. Clean the embroidery

STEP 11

Repeat all the steps of this stage 7 more times using the same design in the machine (FAN 2) to complete 9 finished pieces

- with 3 panels

STEP 12

- with 4 panels

STEP 13

- with 5 panels – make 4 additional pieces

STAGE 03

STEP 01

Prepare the hoop with the stabilizer

STEP 02

Place the FAN 3 design in the machine and run the marking stitch

STEP 03

Place the placemat over the marking in the hoop and secure it with pins in the same way as in step 03 of stage 02, on both sides as shown in the photo

STEP 04

Secure with masking tape along the entire length of the pieces and remove the center pins, then place two pins on the upper sides

STEP 05

Take it to the machine and run the tack-down stitch. After stitching, remove the center masking tapes, but keep the upper pins in place

STEP 06

Place the 17 cm x 14 cm (6.7 x 5.5 in) R2 acrylic batting and the 18 cm x 15 cm (7.1 x 5.9 in) fabric over the marking and secure with masking tape

STEP 07

Take it to the machine and run the tack-down stitch. Continue on the machine and embroider the next color with white thread, then the gray thread (or the color you chose for the outline)

STEP 08

Remove from the machine, remove the masking tapes and trim the excess batting and fabric

STEP 09

On the back side of the hoop, place the 18 cm x 15 cm (7.1 x 5.9 in) fabric and secure it with masking tape

STEP 10

Take it to the machine and run the tack-down stitch. After stitching, remove from the machine and trim the excess fabric

STEP 11

Change the bobbin thread and the top thread to white for the satin stitch finishing

STEP 12

Take it to the machine and run the satin stitch finishing. Remove from the machine, take it out of the hoop and remove the stabilizer. Clean the embroidery.
Reserve for the next stage

STAGE 04

STEP 01

Prepare the hoop with the stabilizer

STEP 02

Place the CENTER design in the machine and run the marking stitch

STEP 03

Place the piece made in the previous stage over the circle marking in the hoop, matching the seams with the seams, and secure with pins in the seam holes as in the other stages

STEP 04

Secure with masking tape all around and remove the pins

STEP 05

Take it to the machine and run the tack-down stitch. After stitching, remove from the machine and remove the masking tapes

STEP 06

Place the 12 cm x 12 cm (4.7 x 4.7 in) acrylic batting and the 13 cm x 13 cm (5.1 x 5.1 in) fabric over the placemat in the hoop

STEP 07

Secure with masking tape all around

STEP 08

Place the white thread in the machine and embroider the center

STEP 09

Remove from the machine, remove the masking tapes and trim the excess fabric

STEP 10

Place the 13 cm x 13 cm (5.1 x 5.1 in) fabric on the back side of the hoop and secure with masking tape. Take it to the machine and run the tack-down stitch

STEP 11

After stitching, remove from the machine, remove the masking tapes and trim the excess fabric

STEP 12

Change the bobbin thread and the top thread to white

STEP 13

Take it to the machine and run the satin stitch finishing. Remove from the machine, take it out of the hoop, remove the stabilizer and clean the embroidery
