Load the Base design into the embroidery machine.
Hoop two layers of tear-away stabilizer.

Return the hoop to the embroidery machine and stitch the placement line.

Place the 14 × 9 cm (5.51 × 3.54 in) R2 polyester batting over the placement line.
Then place the 14 × 9 cm (5.51 × 3.54 in) quilting cotton fabric on top.
Secure both layers with masking tape.

Return the hoop to the embroidery machine and stitch the tack-down stitch to secure the materials.
Keep the hoop in the embroidery machine and stitch the decorative fill pattern on the base.

DECORATIVE FILL PATTERN

Turn the hoop over and place the second 14 × 9 cm (5.51 × 3.54 in) piece of quilting cotton fabric on the back of the hoop.
Secure it with masking tape.

Return the hoop to the embroidery machine and stitch the tack-down stitch to secure the fabric.

On the front of the project, trim away the excess fabric and polyester batting.
Also trim along the center placement line, as shown.

CENTER PLACEMENT LINE

On the back of the project, trim away the excess fabric and also cut along the center placement line.

Thread the embroidery machine using the same thread color for both the upper thread and the bobbin thread, matching the color you have chosen for the Base finishing.

Stitch the satin stitch finishing.

Remove the hoop from the embroidery machine.
Take the project out of the hoop.
Tear away the stabilizer and clean up the embroidery.
Set the Base aside for use in the next stage.

Load the Heart House design into the embroidery machine.
Hoop two layers of tear-away stabilizer.

Return the hoop to the embroidery machine and stitch the placement line for the polyester batting.

Place the 17 × 15 cm (6.69 × 5.91 in) piece of R2 polyester batting over the placement line.
Secure it with masking tape.

Return the hoop to the embroidery machine and stitch the placement line for the house on the polyester batting.

Take the Base completed in Stage 01.
Align the upper horizontal seam of the decorative fill pattern on the Base with the lower placement line of the house, indicated by the arrow, as shown in the photos.

Make sure everything is properly aligned.
Secure the Base with small pieces of masking tape along the top and bottom edges, covering the entire width.
Fasten it securely, as the Base will remain in the hoop until the project is completed.

Place the 15 × 12 cm (5.91 × 4.72 in) piece of quilting cotton fabric for the house body over the placement line.
Secure it with masking tape.

Return the hoop to the embroidery machine and stitch the tack-down stitch.

Remove the hoop from the embroidery machine.
Remove the masking tape.
Trim away the excess fabric, being careful not to cut the polyester batting.

Place the 15 × 11 cm (5.91 × 4.33 in) piece of quilting cotton fabric for the roof over the placement line.
Secure it with masking tape.

Return the hoop to the embroidery machine and stitch the tack-down stitch.

After the fabric has been secured, remove the masking tape.
Trim away the excess fabric, being careful not to cut the polyester batting.

Place the 6 × 5 cm (2.36 × 1.97 in) piece of quilting cotton fabric for the chimney over the placement line.
Secure it with masking tape.

The chimney brick details will be stitched during the tack-down step.
Thread the embroidery machine with the thread color you have chosen for this part of the design.

Return the hoop to the embroidery machine and stitch the tack-down stitch along with the chimney brick details.
Remove the hoop from the embroidery machine.
Remove the masking tape.
Trim away the excess fabric, being careful not to cut the polyester batting.

Place the 5 × 3 cm (1.97 × 1.18 in) piece of quilting cotton fabric for the chimney cap over the placement line.
Secure it with masking tape.

Return the hoop to the embroidery machine and stitch the tack-down stitch.
Once the fabric has been secured, remove the masking tape.
Trim away the excess fabric, being careful not to cut the polyester batting.

Return the hoop to the embroidery machine and stitch the placement lines for the windows and the door appliqués.

Place the 6 × 6 cm (2.36 × 2.36 in) piece of quilting cotton fabric for the lower window over the placement line.
Position one piece of lace slightly above the upper placement line of the window, as shown.
Secure both with masking tape.
After the tack-down stitch is complete, remove the masking tape.
Trim away the excess fabric and lace.

Place the 5 × 5 cm (1.97 × 1.97 in) piece of quilting cotton fabric for the upper window over the placement line, following the same procedure as in the previous step.
Secure it with masking tape.
After the tack-down stitch is complete, remove the masking tape.
Trim away the excess fabric and lace.

Place the 8 × 5 cm (3.15 × 1.97 in) piece of quilting cotton fabric for the door over the placement line.
Secure it with masking tape.
After the tack-down stitch is complete, remove the masking tape.
Trim away the excess fabric.

Once all the appliqués have been completed, stitch the satin stitch finishing and decorative details in the following order:
Upper window
Lower window
Door
Grass
Door details

(This sequence applies to this design.)

After stitching the finishing details, turn the hoop over.
Position the 12 cm (4.72 in) piece of #1 satin ribbon, folded in half, over the cross marking.
Secure it with a small piece of masking tape, making sure it does not extend beyond the roof stitching line, as this piece of tape will remain in place.
Secure the upper end with a longer piece of masking tape, positioning it slightly above the roof stitching line.

Keeping the hoop turned over, place the 17 × 15 cm (6.69 × 5.91 in) piece of quilting cotton fabric for the lining over the placement line.
Secure it with masking tape.

Return the hoop to the embroidery machine and stitch the tack-down stitch.
Once the lining has been secured, remove the masking tape.
Trim away the excess lining fabric, being careful not to cut the satin ribbon.
Do not remove the masking tape holding the satin ribbon in place.

On the front of the project, trim away the excess fabric and polyester batting.
Remove the masking tape securing the Base.
Trim away the polyester batting underneath the Base.
Then reposition the masking tape, securing the Base in place again.

Thread the embroidery machine using the same thread color for both the upper thread and the bobbin thread, matching the finishing color for each appliqué.
Follow the finishing sequence described in Step 28.

Stitch the satin stitch finishing in the following order:

Chimney side
Chimney cap
House body
Roof
Once all the finishing stitches have been completed, remove the hoop from the embroidery machine.
Take the project out of the hoop.
Tear away the stabilizer and clean up the embroidery.
