1 - 5 × 7 in (13 × 18 cm) embroidery hoop
2 - Tear-away stabilizer
3 - Kitchen towel (Osnaburg cotton), measuring 47 × 70 cm (18.50 × 27.56 in)
4 - One corrugated plastic sheet (Coroplast)
5 - Fabric marking pen
6 - Fine pins
7 - Scissors
8 - Masking tape
9 - Ruler
10 - Embroidery thread
11 - One bobbin wound with the same thread color as the embroidery design
STEP-BY-STEP GUIDE – STAGE 01
STEP 01
Thread the embroidery machine using the same thread color for both the upper thread and the bobbin thread.
STEP 02
Using a fabric marking pen, mark the center of the kitchen towel and draw a vertical guideline.
From the center line, measure 22 cm (8.66 in) to each side and draw a guideline on both sides.
STEP 03
Hoop the tear-away stabilizer.
STEP 04
Load the Left Corner design into the embroidery machine.
Return the hoop to the embroidery machine and stitch the placement line.
STEP 05
Remove the hoop from the embroidery machine.
Place the hoop on top of the corrugated plastic sheet (Coroplast).
STEP 06
Insert a pin at the beginning of the guideline drawn on the kitchen towel.
At the hoop marking, insert the pin at the intersection of the vertical and horizontal placement lines, as shown in the photos below, securing the towel to the corrugated plastic sheet (Coroplast).
STEP 07
Insert another pin through the hoop marking, exactly at the point where the vertical and horizontal placement lines intersect, as shown in the photos below.
STEP 08
Along the upper part of the hoop marking, insert additional pins in the same manner used in the previous step.
STEP 09
Secure the towel with masking tape along the entire side of the hoop.
STEP 10
Insert pins all around the hoop, securing the fabric to the tear-away stabilizer.
Position the pins as close to the hoop frame as possible.
STEP 11
Once the fabric has been secured with pins around the entire hoop, remove the pins used for the initial positioning on the corrugated plastic sheet (Coroplast).
STEP 12
Return the hoop to the embroidery machine and stitch the first section of the design.
STEP 13
Remove the hoop from the embroidery machine.
Remove the masking tape and all the pins.
Take the project out of the hoop.
STEP 14
On the right side of the embroidery, trim the tear-away stabilizer, leaving approximately 2 cm (0.79 in) extending beyond the edge.
STEP 15
Trim the stabilizer as shown in the photo to reduce bulk while working.
Be sure to leave the 2 cm (0.79 in) extension of stabilizer on the right side, as it will be used to join the sections in the following stages.
STEP-BY-STEP GUIDE – STAGE 02
STEP 01
Thread the embroidery machine using the same thread color for both the upper thread and the bobbin thread.
STEP 02
Hoop the tear-away stabilizer.
STEP 03
Load the Center design into the embroidery machine.
Return the hoop to the embroidery machine and stitch the placement line.
STEP 04
Remove the hoop from the embroidery machine.
Place the hoop on top of the corrugated plastic sheet (Coroplast).
STEP 05
Position the kitchen towel over the hoop, aligning the 2 cm (0.79 in) stabilizer extension left from the previous stage over the hoop.
STEP 06
Insert a pin through the small hole left by the stitching in the stabilizer extension of the kitchen towel.
Align it with the corresponding placement mark on the hoop.
Repeat on both sides, as shown in the photos below, securing the project to the corrugated plastic sheet (Coroplast).
STEP 07
Once the pins are secured to the corrugated plastic sheet (Coroplast), place a strip of masking tape over the stabilizer extension of the kitchen towel, attaching it to the stabilizer hooped in the embroidery hoop.
Make sure both stabilizers are perfectly aligned and do not shift.
This step is essential to ensure the embroidery sections align correctly.
STEP 08
Gently arrange the kitchen towel over the hoop without stretching the fabric.
Insert several pins along the left side, securing the fabric to the tear-away stabilizer.
Position the pins on the placement marks, following the same method used in Step 07 of Stage 01, securing them to the corrugated plastic sheet (Coroplast).
STEP 09
Insert pins all around the hoop frame, securing the fabric to the tear-away stabilizer.
STEP 10
Remove the pins used for the initial positioning on the corrugated plastic sheet (Coroplast).
STEP 11
Return the hoop to the embroidery machine and stitch the Center design.
STEP 12
Remove the hoop from the embroidery machine.
Remove all the pins.
Take the project out of the hoop.
Trim the tear-away stabilizer, leaving a 2 cm (0.79 in) extension on the right side, just as you did in Stage 01.
STEP-BY-STEP GUIDE – STAGE 03
STEP 01
Load the Right Corner design into the embroidery machine.
Repeat Steps 01 through 08 of Stage 02.
STEP 02
On the right side of the kitchen towel, insert a pin at the end of the guideline drawn with the fabric marking pen.
Insert the same pin through the corresponding placement mark on the hoop, as shown in the photo.
STEP 03
Insert the pins at the placement marks, following the same method used in Step 07 of Stage 01, securing them to the corrugated plastic sheet (Coroplast).
Repeat the same procedure on the left side.
STEP 04
Once the pins have been secured to the corrugated plastic sheet (Coroplast), apply masking tape along the entire right side, securing the kitchen towel to the tear-away stabilizer hooped in the embroidery hoop.
STEP 05
Insert pins all around the hoop frame, securing the fabric to the tear-away stabilizer.
Remove the pins used for the initial positioning on the corrugated plastic sheet (Coroplast).
STEP 06
Return the hoop to the embroidery machine and stitch the Right Corner design.
Once the embroidery is complete, remove the masking tape and all the pins.
Take the project out of the hoop.
STEP 07
From the back of the embroidery, carefully cut only the placement stitch lines in the tear-away stabilizer, being careful not to cut the embroidery stitches.
Remove the tear-away stabilizer.
