7 - Small-point scissors for trimming
8 - Embroidery threads
9 - Masking tape
10 - Bobbin threaded with the color used for the final finishing stitches
Step by Step
Step 01
- Prepare the hoop with the stabilizer.
Step 02
- Load the ORNAMENT design in the machine and stitch the first color (shown in GRAY), which is the placement line.
Step 03
- Place a 4,72" x 4,72" piece of R2 batting over the placement line, then a 4,72" x 4,72" piece of solid tricoline fabric on top. Tape the edges with masking tape.
Step 04
- Take it to the machine and stitch the second color (shown in PURPLE) to tack down the materials. After that, place the 4,72" x 4,72" pearlescent paper on top and tape it down.
Step 05
- Return the hoop to the machine and stitch the next colors of the design until you reach the color shown in ORANGE—this will be the placement mark for the satin ribbon.
- Remove the hoop from the machine.
Step 06
- This color marks where to secure the satin ribbon (back side).
Step 07
- Place the satin ribbon over the placement mark on the back of the hoop and secure it with a piece of masking tape.
Step 08
- Place a 4,72" x 4,72" piece of solid tricoline fabric (backing) and tape it in place.
- Also tape down the satin ribbon to keep it secure.
Step 09
- Return to the machine and stitch the next color (shown in PURPLE) to tack down the back fabric.
Step 10
- Remove from the machine and trim the excess fabric from the front and back.
- Do not remove the masking tape from the satin ribbon yet.
Step 11
- Load the bobbin with the thread color that will be used for the final finishing stitch.
Step 12
- Return to the machine and stitch the last color of the design, which is the final finishing. Remove from the hoop, tear away the stabilizer, and clean up the embroidery.
