Step by Step Christmas Ornament Ball with Name Project
MATERIALS USED
1 - 5,11" x 7,08" hoop
2 - Tear-away stabilizer
3 - 1 piece of R1 batting 4,72" x 4,33"
4 - 1 piece of red felt 5,11"x 4,33"
5 - 1 piece of red felt 4,33" X 4,33"
6 - 1 piece of brown felt 2,75" x 1,96"
7 - Satin ribbon No. 1, 4,72" long
8 - Embroidery threads
9 - Small sharp embroidery scissors
10 - Masking tape
11 - Bobbin thread matching the finishing thread color
Step by Step
STEP 01
- Prepare the hoop with the stabilizer.
- Load the Christmas Ball embroidery design in the machine and stitch the first color (RED), which will be the placement line.
- Place the R1 batting 4,72" x 4,33" over the placement line and align the red felt 4,33" X4,33" with the batting at the bottom. Secure with masking tape on the edges.
- Take it to the machine and stitch the second color (GREEN), which will secure the material.
- After securing, remove from the machine and trim the excess red felt, leaving the top part of the batting untrimmed with a small margin on the sides.
- Place the brown felt 2,75" x 2,36" over the batting left at the top and secure with masking tape.
- Take the hoop back to the machine and stitch the third color (BLACK), which will secure the brown felt.
- Remove from the machine and trim the excess brown felt and batting.
- Return to the machine and stitch the fourth color (WHITE) for the details. Next, stitch the fifth color (BEIGE), or continue with white if you prefer, to embroider the customized name.
- On the back of the hoop, center the 4,72" satin ribbon, crossing the ends to form a loop, and secure with masking tape.
- Also secure the top of the ribbon, forming a “V” shape.
- Return to the machine and stitch the sixth color (ORANGE) to secure the satin ribbon. Remove from the machine after stitching.
- This step is the front securing stitch of the satin ribbon.
- On the back of the hoop, place the red felt 5,11" x 4,33" and secure with masking tape.
- from the machine and trim the excess felt.
- Be careful not to cut the satin ribbon. Do not remove the masking tape holding the ribbon.

- Change the bobbin thread and top thread to match the finishing color of the red felt edge.
- Return to the machine and stitch the eighth color (RED), which will finish the red felt edge.
- Change the bobbin and top threads again to the color chosen for the bow finish.
- Return to the machine and stitch the ninth color (BROWN), which will finish the bow.
