STEP-BY-STEP - STAGE 01 - TREE

STEP 01

Prepare the hoop with two sheets of stabilizer.

STEP 02

Load the LAMP (TREE) embroidery design into the machine and run the color shown in PURPLE — this will be the placement/marking.

STEP 03

Place the R1 batting 6,69" x 5,90" over the marking and the 5,51" x 5,51" felt or tricoline (tree) aligned with the bottom edge of the batting as in the photo below, and secure the edges with masking tape.

STEP 04

Put it back in the machine and run the color shown in BLACK - this will tack the material in place.

STEP 05

Remove from the machine, take off the masking tape and trim the excess felt.

STEP 06

Return to the machine and run the color shown in PURPLE - this will mark the applique position for the star.

STEP 07

Remove from the machine, place the 2,36" x 2,36" red felt or tricoline (star) over the marking and secure the edges with masking tape.

STEP 08

Put it in the machine and run the color shown in BLACK - this will tack the star material. After tacking, remove from the machine and trim the star fabric excess.

STEP 09

Return to the machine and embroider the next color in GREEN for the foliage detail.

STEP 10

After embroidering the foliage details, remove from the machine and place the 6,69" x 5,90" green felt or tricoline on the back; secure the edges with masking tape.

STEP 11

Return to the machine and run the color shown in BLACK - this will tack the back felt and the next markings.

STEP 12

Remove from the machine. Using the pointed scissors, cut away the felt/tricoline and the R1 batting from the interior of the markings on the front (the little circles; in other designs this will be cuts for hearts or triangles), carefully from the front side so you do not cut the stabilizer. On the back, cut only the felt/tricoline at the marked circles, again taking care not to cut the stabilizer.

STEP 13

Trim the fabric excess on the front and back.

STEP 14

Return to the machine and embroider the following colors: White, Yellow, Red, Orange and Blue.

STEP 15

Change the bobbin thread to green.

STEP 16

Put it in the machine and embroider the next GREEN color for the satin/fill stitch finish of the tree.

STEP 17

Change the bobbin thread to red.

STEP 18

Put it in the machine and embroider the next RED color for the satin/fill stitch finish of the star.

STEP 19

Remove from the machine, take out of the hoop and remove the stabilizer.

STEP 20

On the back, trim the fabric, threads, batting and stabilizer as shown in the photos below.

STEP 21

Stitch the design two more times so you have three identical pieces. Set them aside for assembly in Stage 3.

STEP-BY-STEP - STAGE 02 - BASE

STEP 01

Prepare the hoop with two sheets of stabilizer.

STEP 02

Load the BASE embroidery design into the machine and run the color shown in PURPLE — this will be the placement/marking.

STEP 03

Take one of the tree pieces from the previous stage and place a pin at the junction of the two lower seams on each side and in the middle, as shown in the photos — positioning it on one of the three marked sides of the hoop.

STEP 04

Repeat the previous step with the other two tree pieces.

Apply masking tape along the full length of the pieces, at the corners and inside as shown in the photos, then remove the pins.

STEP 05

Put it in the machine and run the next color shown in BLACK; after tacking, remove from the machine and remove only the masking tape from the middle section.

STEP 06

Place the R1 batting 4,72" x 4,72" and secure with two pieces of masking tape at the ends.

STEP 07

Place the 4,72" x 4,72" felt/tricoline over the batting and secure with two pieces of masking tape at the corners. On the back, place the other 4,72" x 4,72" felt/tricoline piece and secure it with masking tape as well.

STEP 07 — BACK SIDE

STEP 08

Put it in the machine and run the next color shown in PINK - this will tack the front and back materials.

STEP 09

After tacking, remove from the machine and trim the excess fabric on the FRONT and on the BACK.

STEP 10

Change the bobbin thread and the top thread to the color of the finishing satin/fill stitch.

STEP 11

Put it in the machine and embroider the next color shown in GREEN. When the finishing is complete, remove from the machine, take off the masking tape, and remove from the hoop. Do not remove the stabilizer yet.

STEP 12

Carefully cut the guide seams on the sides of the pieces on the front and back with the pointed scissors as shown in the photos, remove the stabilizer and clean up the pieces.

STEP 13

Cut the seams that were used as guides for placing the pins on the three pieces and remove the threads.

Cut the seams that were used as guides for placing the pins on the three pieces and remove the threads.

STEP 14

Slowly cut along the two marking lines that meet in the middle of the star on the three pieces and thread the satin ribbon through them.

STEP 15

Join the three stars with a bow and place the electronic candle inside the tree.

AND DONE!

We have finished this project.
