Pacifier Clip Step-by-Step Tutorial

STEP 1

Mark the placement on the baby towel or burp cloth where the Enchanted Forest design will be embroidered.

In this sample, the design is positioned in the corner of the baby towel or burp cloth, leaving enough space to personalize it with the baby's name.

For the baby washcloth, measure approximately 2" (5 cm) in from the edge toward the center. This mark indicates the bottom edge of the finished embroidery. Also mark the center of the washcloth.

STEP 2

Hoop the baby towel or burp cloth together with the stabilizer.

Starting the Embroidery

STEP 3

1 - Attach the hoop to your embroidery machine.
2 - Stitch the design as usual until you reach the outline stitch.
3 - Once the outline stitch is complete, a small section of the woodland character's hand will remain unstitched. This marks the placement for the satin ribbon.

Preparing the Satin Ribbon

STEP 4

1. Cut an 8" (20 cm) length of satin ribbon.

2. Carefully seal both ends of the ribbon with a lighter to prevent fraying.

Safety Note

Always follow the safety regulations applicable in your country or region when making baby accessories. Keep the finished pacifier clip strap short enough to help reduce the risk of strangulation.

Attaching the Ribbon to the Embroidery

STEP 5

1- Fold over approximately ¼" (0.5 cm) of the ribbon end that will be secured inside the project to create a clean, finished edge.

2- Position the satin ribbon between the woodland character's hands, aligning the folded end with the unstitched opening.

3- Use masking tape to hold the ribbon securely in place.

STEP 6

1- Return the hoop to your embroidery machine and stitch the first hand tack-down (Green Color Stop).

Note:
Use the same thread color that will be used to fill the character's hand. This allows the ribbon to be secured with the fill stitches for a cleaner, more professional finish.

2- After the first hand is secured, the machine will move to the second hand tack-down (Red Color Stop).

3- Secure the ribbon to the second hand.

4- Once the ribbon is secured, carefully remove the masking tape from the character's hands.

STEP 7

- Return the hoop to your embroidery machine and stitch the fill and finishing stitches for both of the character's hands..

Attaching the Snap Buttons

STEP 8

1- Once the embroidery is complete, remove the hoop from the machine and mark the ribbon where the snap fastener will be attached.

2- Mark the first snap ⅝" (1.5 cm) from the end of the ribbon.

3- Mark the second snap 2½" (6.5 cm) from the end of the ribbon.

STEP 9

After marking the ribbon, use a snap press to attach the snap fasteners.

Before attaching the snaps, make sure both halves are facing the correct direction so the ribbon folds over and closes properly around the pacifier handle.

Check that both snap fasteners are securely attached before using the finished project..

Finishing

STEP 10 - FINISHING

Clean up the embroidery on both the front and the back of the project.

Trim any loose threads, remove excess stabilizer, and make sure the ribbon and snap fasteners are securely attached.

Your hand towel or burp cloth with the pacifier clip attachment is now ready.
