MATERIALS USED

4 - Stabilizer – in this tutorial, we use heat dissolving machine embroidery stabilizer topping film.
5 - Main material: felt scraps or faux leather.
6 - Masking tape.
7 - Scissors for cutting and trimming.
8 - Hole punch.
9 - Eyelets, key ring, and keychain chain.

STEP-BY-STEP

STEP 01

- Place the stabilizer in the hoop, with the rough side of the film facing up – this side will touch the material to be embroidered. Stitch the first placement line. (On the machine: Color 1 – yellow)

STEP 02

- Result of the placement line.

STEP 03

- On the front of the hoop: cut a piece of the main material bigger than the stitched outline, place it over the mark, and secure it with masking tape. Stitch the tackdown. (On the machine: Color 2 – red)

STEP 04

- Result of the tackdown. Return the hoop to the machine to embroider the design. (On the machine: Color 3 – black)

STEP 05

- Result of the embroidery step.

STEP 06

- Turn the hoop to the back: cut another piece of the main material (bigger than the outline), place it, and tape the edges. Run the tackdown. (On the machine: Color 4 – green)

STEP 07

- Result of the tackdown.

STEP 08

- Trim the thread tails and the excess material close to the stitching line.

STEP 09

- Change the bobbin. Use the same thread color as the satin stitch for a clean finish. Run the final border stitch. (On the machine: Color 5 – gray)

STEP 10

- Embroidery is complete.

STEP 11

- Remove the hoop, clean the embroidery, cut remaining threads, and remove the stabilizer.

STEP 12

- Finishing: make a hole at the marked spot, insert an eyelet to finish the hole. Add a small ring and a keychain chain.

STEP 13

- Your keychain is ready!

STEP 14

- Follow these same steps to make the other keychain designs in the collection.
